Post-conference field trip ticket

Description

Date:
10-11. October

Topic:
“From Neoproterozoic rifting to Late Cretaceous basin inversion along the
Teisseyre-Tornquist Zone, S Poland”

Info:
The aim of the post-conference field trip scheduled for October 10-11 is to visit classic geological sites illustrating a complex Paleozoic and Mesozoic tectonostratigraphic evolution of S-SE Poland – an area adjacent to the Teisseyre-Tornquist Zone, i.e. one of the most fundamental geological boundaries in Europe. Discussions on particular geological outcrops will be augmented by presentation of relevant seismic data, both standard industry reflection profiles as well as deep reflection and refraction data. The field excursion will depart from and return to Kraków, we will be examining outcrops of the Polish Jura Chain, of the Holy Cross Mountains (Góry Świętokrzyskie) and of the Miocene Carpathian foreland basin.
